The way performers exist in context with their environment, combined with how light interacts with perception, can be used to further understanding or to pull the rug out and subvert the expected.”
Krista is a Lighting Designer and Interdisciplinary Artist with an enthusiasm for new work, adaptations, and storytelling interwoven with music. Company Member of KrymovLab NYC. Proud member of USA 829. An experienced teaching artist, Krista has worked with young playwrights in the development of their artistic voice though The Dwight/Edgewood Project, guest lectured on Lighting Design and Process at Colgate University while working as an Artist in Residence, and assisted Jennifer Tipton in the teaching of her Lighting Design Master Class of Swan Lake in partnership with The Asian Arts Council and Ballet Philippines. Originally from California, Krista is the recipient of Theatre Bay Area’s 2011 Eric Landisman Fellowship. Professional training includes her B.A. in Theater Arts from San Francisco State University and M.F.A. in Lighting Design from Yale School of Drama.
